GENERAL INFORMATION

GENERAL INFORMATION

Instructor Trainees:
Attention 12 to 14 year olds. We have a limited number of spaces available for students interested in "learning how to teach" alongside qualified adult instructors. The structured program requires a commitment of volunteer time for the entire season. For details contact (262) 335-5080.

Conservancy Volunteers:
Call (262) 335-5080 to become a volunteer. Opportunities include land use policy enforcement, patrol, trail and grounds maintenance, teacher naturalists, buckthorn eradication, beautification and conservation projects, lawn care and more. Volunteer orientation and training provided.

Residency:
A RESIDENT is any person who LIVES WITHIN THE CORPORATE CITY LIMITS of West Bend. This is not to be confused with a West Bend area school district resident. City and school district boundaries are not the same. A NON-RESIDENT is anyone who lives outside the City limits. Even if your mailing address is West Bend, this does not mean you are a corporate City resident. Most activities have different fees for residents and non-residents. The City of West Bend Park, Recreation and Forestry Department is supported by the residents of the City of West Bend through taxes. Non-residents pay their fair share through an additional surcharge established by the Park and Recreation Commission.

Refund Policy:
See detailed information under separate heading "REFUND POLICY" on the home page.

Satisfaction Guarantee:
We guarantee your satisfaction with our recreation programs. If you are not completely satisfied for any reason, please fill out a form which may be obtained at our office. You will receive a credit that can be applied to another program, or a refund with the Director's approval.

Financial Assistance Program:
Qualifying families that meet the Income Eligibility Guidelines may request an application by calling (262) 335-5080. Participants pay $5 per class, maximum 1 class per child per session. Assistance is for Recreation Department sponsored programs only.

Cancellations:
See more information under "REFUND POLICY" . A minimum number of students are required for a class to be offered. The Department reserves the right to cancel a class or make schedule changes when enrollment does not meet set minimums. Never leave your child alone at a class site if a Department staff member is not present. To receive instant class cancellation or schedule change notifications, "like" us on Facebook.

Photo Policy:
The West Bend Park, Recreation and Forestry Department periodically takes photographs of activity participants, instructors and park users. Photographs are most often of a "close-up" nature, and then used for a variety of promotions.

Insurance Coverage:
The Park and Recreation Department does not provide nor cover any medical or hospital insurance for program participants. You are encouraged to obtain your own insurance prior to taking part in any Department activity.

Special Needs Individuals:
The City of West Bend Park, Recreation and Forestry Department welcomes individuals of all abilities into our classes and activities. Please indicate any special need when you register, or contact (262) 335-5080.
